The Wednesday Farmers Market in Florence, MA and the Saturday Northampton Farmers’ Market are seeking interns to run the machine that issues SNAP/EBT/DEBIT/CREDIT transactions. Thanks to a generous grant, both markets are able to DOUBLE the value of SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program) benefits for eligible recipients. This is a really important program helping people get access to healthy and locally grown food.
The hours for Florence will be 4 1/2 hours on Wednesday afternoons and 6 1/2 hours in Northampton on Saturday mornings. The interns will be required to keep detailed records of all transactions and summarize the transactions at the end of the day. The hope is that one person will run the machine at both markets and take the machine home between markets. The intern will need to be able to lift and carry a table ,chair, and tent for the setup.
A stipend for travel expense will be provided.
Anyone interested should contact Rick Tracy, President of the Northampton Farmers’ Market, at Intervale5@comcast.net.
